Clinical Evaluation of Aspoxicillin on Patients with Pneumonia


Abstract
The effectiveness of Aspoxicillin, a new derivative of penicillin, was evaluated in 30
patients with bacterial pneumonia. Causative agents was Streptococcus pneumoniae in 18
cases, Hemophiuls influenzae in 4 cases, Klebsiella pneumoniae in 3 cases,
Staphylococcus in 2 cases and normal flora in 2 cases.
The clinical effectiveness was excellent in patients with pneumococcal pneumonia and
although the clinical effectiveness was a little fair in patients with Hemophilus
influenzae, Klebsiella and Streptococcus pneumoniae, in vitro sensitively test should be
needed and in case of staphylococcal pneumonia, the clinical effectiveness was poor.
Pruritus was noticed in 6 cases and serum transaminase was elevated in 1 case in
the courese of treatment.
